Published on: 20/02/2026
The Greater Youth Sports Association (GYSA) has been recognized during a Black History Month ceremony by the Board of County Commissioners for its impact on youth development and community engagement. Founded by Devonte Woodson, GYSA began with a single after-school soccer clinic and has grown into a program that provides accessible sports, mentorship, and safe spaces for students. This recognition highlights the collective efforts of families, schools, coaches, and supporters in creating opportunities for youth to grow, connect, and thrive.
